The Reporter/Backpack System Connector allow users to add a second camera or binoculars to a neck strap or backpack. They are interchangeable with many of OP/TECH USA camera straps.
The Reporter/Backpack - System Connectors™ allow users to add a camera or binoculars to a neck strap or backpack. The Reporter/Backpack - System Connectors™ are available in a set of two.
With the OP/TECH USA System Connectors™, the camera/binocular owner has several connection options. You can buy an extra set of connectors to customize the strap to best suit your needs. Straps can be lengthened to be worn across the chest or shortened to be worn at chest level. Another feature of the System Connectors™ is the small carrying handle created when the quick disconnects are latched together.

I thought these connectors would be just the ticket to attach my camera to my backpacks. If only I could open and close the clamps. The specs:
Materials: Nylon webbing, hard plastic clamps and leather tabs.
Hard plastic is an understatement. My fingers are not crippled with arthritis. I am just not as strong as Frank Simpson in the video. I managed to close the clamp using pliers. But I never got them open again. Since I still hope to be able to use the connectors I am looking at purchasing some square carabiner clamps through Amazon. Op/Tech doesn't seem to have any clamps available to substitute for the ones that come with the connector. I sent an inquiry to Op/Tech and received a reply to push on the middle of the clamp to close it. That didn't work. Hence the pliers. I sent another email about alternate clamps but have not received response. Since there don't seem to be any other reviews about problems, maybe I just got a bad batch.
I bought these along with other items for the Op/Tech quick connect strap system and love them all. These straps take the load off of my neck and put it on my shoulders through the back pack. I can't believe that I did not find these sooner, my neck wouldn't be hurting so much. It's hard enough to find a good product, but to find a great product made in the USA is even harder. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE GREAT PRODUCTS! Keep up the great work Op/Tech, you have a customer for life. I will be buying more very soon.
I added these to a Lowepro backpack and use them to hold my camera when hiking. After getting headaches and neck/back pain from using neck straps for extended periods these make a world of difference. I can hang with a FF DSLR with a 400mm lens off of these and have total confidence with their ability to hang on. The connectors will fit any backpack harness that has 1" webbing on them and they have never failed me.
I want to attach my Nikon SX20IS camera to my backpack using this Reporter/Backpack system connectors. I also want to use a wrist strap on the camera once I remove or disconnect it from the backpack. What other items do I need to buy to do this? The wrist strap I'm interested in OTCWQDWN seems to have small connectors. It doesn't have to be that wrist strap but that is the style I am wanting but not necessary. I can't tell if I would need adapters or if this is something I can not do. Any help is appreciated.
The Reporter/Backpack system connectors will work with any of these wrist straps:
All of these products use a Uni-Loop to connect to the camera; so they are all interchangeable.
