Pro Strap™ - 3/8"

The Pro Strap™ is rapidly becoming the choice of professional photographers and people who use large cameras with long heavy lenses. It's also ideal for use on portable power packs. The patented weight reduction system makes equipment feel 50% lighter and 100% more comfortable. The weight is evenly dispersed while the strap functions as a shock absorber to eliminate neck and shoulder fatigue. The Non Slip Grip™ adds the finishing touch which enables camera gear to be safely carried slung over the shoulder. You'll definitely feel the difference!

Pro Loop Strap™

The Pro Loop Strap™ combines all the same features of the Pro Strap™ with a unique connection system for especially tight connection points. The strap loops through the connection area to form a slip knot which "falls" away freely from the camera when in use. A simple and extremely secure system you can trust!

I bought my Nikon D70 (first DSLR <$1000) back in 2005 along with a Pro Strap. While my D70 is nearing (and long overdue for) replacement, it looks like the Pro Strap will outlast it, although it will be replaced as well with a new Pro Strap. I typically have my Nikon 18-200 VR attached, so it's a little heavy, but not nearly as heavy as some pro/sport set-ups. The real test for me comes from all my backpacking and climbing and being active with my daughter. If my camera is protected in its fanny pack I'm less likely to stop and shoot. Therefore it's ALWAYS hanging around my neck, one hand holding the lens to keep it from swinging around, occasionally bumping into things, while I sweat, in every condition with every type of clothing, for hours on end. The little rubber dots on the inside of the strap are about half gone from rubbing on my neck or clothes; it's stained from sweat and dirt; the edges of the neoprene are frayed and curled; the buckles are scratched up; the straps are worn and fuzzy... but my two concerns upon purchasing the Pro Strap have proven themselves reliable as well. 1) The buckles have NEVER opened on their own, EVER, not even part way, not even when dragged across rock while climbing; and 2) the points where the straps pass through the metal attachment points on my old D70 (which are somewhat sharp) are shiny from rubbing for almost 9 years, but have not frayed or even begun to wear through. This Pro Strap is ABSOLUTELY 100% RELIABLE! I WILL be buying another (cleaner) Pro Strap when I buy my new Nikon D7100! Is it comfortable? Yeah, I guess... as comfortable as any strap could be holding a heavy camera for hours on end under these conditions. The neoprene and elastic strap DO absorb shock, even after 9 years; and a stiffer/harder/more rigid material would probably be much more uncomfortable. I'm always glad to take it off after a long day, but I'm not willing to try a different strap. I love my Pro Strap. There, hope that helps. (posted on 2/10/14)

Love my new Pro Loop Strap. It is perfect on my 1D with 70-200 2.8, and 400 5.6. Makes the camera feel lighter and the loops really do tend to get out of the way when changing from landscape to portrait shooting. Great customer service and fast shipping.

I purchased this strap while taking photo classes. It's amazing how much more comfortably I am able to carry my camera (Nikon D5000), even with a heavy lens on it. Love it & have recommended it to others. (posted on 3/27/11)

Best money I've ever spent on photo gear. The straps are very comfortable and for a shoulder carrier like myself the grippy pad is a real bonus... it stays put.
The only reason I gave 4* for durability is that after a few years I've notice some fraying on the loops and the shoulder pad. This hasn't compromised the strap. (posted on 3/18/11)

Question:

I am looking at the Pro Loop Strap - my camera is a Nikon d5100 and this strap is on the list options for that camera. Since I was going to take this path I thought maybe the Sling Strap Adapter would be a nice toy to have for once in a while use, not often but who knows. The Sling Strap Adapter does not appear to hook to the Pro Loop Strap, is this true?

Answer:

Yes, the Sling Strap Adaptor will work with the Pro Loop Strap. Un-clip the connectors from the strap pad of the Pro Loop Strap and then clip on the Sling Strap Adaptor.

Question:

Is there a strap for the Pro pad that can be adjusted to be long enough to be worn over the shoulder like a sling but that retains the 2 typical attachment points of the camera as worn over the neck?

Answer:

There are two options for getting a longer length Pro Strap.
1. Get a Pro Strap and a set of Extensions. The Extensions will clip into the Pro Strap and lengthen it an additional 8.5" to 11.5" per side. You can add only one or both to the Pro Strap to get the desired length you want.
2. Go to our Custom Strap page and you can order the Pro pad with XL length connectors. We offer three XL length connectors: 3/8" Webbing XL, Uni Adaptor Loop XL and Pro Loop XL.

Question:

What is the difference between the pads on the Pro Strap and Utility Strap? From the photos, I can see that the Pro Strap has additional webbing over the pad, but I can't tell how this affects, fit, comfort, etc. Are the pads themselves the same material and thickness? Also, do these pads work best when worn around the neck, over the shoulder, or are they designed for both?

Answer:

The chart on the Find A Strap page can help explain the differences between our straps. Both the Pro Strap and Utility Strap can be worn on the shoulder or the around the neck, and they are both rated at 15 pounds. The Pro Strap has the elastic webbing on top of the neoprene pad, while the Utility Strap has elastic inside the neoprene pad. The edges of the Utility Strap are bound, the Pro Strap are not. The Utility Strap has a non-skid surface on the entire underside of the strap pad, the Pro Strap has non-slip grip dots on the center of the strap pad.
