How to Attach the Pro Strap™ 3/8" to your Camera
|1. Pass the end of the webbing through the connector on the camera.||2. Pass it back through the first opening on the plastic buckle.||3. Pass it through the second opening on the plastic buckle.||4. Pull tight for a secure hold.|
How to Attach the Pro Loop Strap™ to your Camera
The Pro Loop Strap™ uses 1/4" tubular nylon webbing to fit easily in tight connection areas. It attaches to the connection point of a camera the same way the Uni-Loop System Connector™ does.
|1. Detach the connection system from the strap at the quick disconnects. Slide the loop end of the Pro Loop Strap™ through the connection point of the camera.||2. Then pass the other end of the Pro Loop Strap™ through the loop.||3. Pull the connection system tight to form a secure hold. Re-attach the connection system to the strap.|
I am looking at the Pro Loop Strap - my camera is a Nikon d5100 and this strap is on the list options for that camera. Since I was going to take this path I thought maybe the Sling Strap Adapter would be a nice toy to have for once in a while use, not often but who knows. The Sling Strap Adapter does not appear to hook to the Pro Loop Strap, is this true?
Yes, the Sling Strap Adaptor will work with the Pro Loop Strap. Un-clip the connectors from the strap pad of the Pro Loop Strap and then clip on the Sling Strap Adaptor.
Is there a strap for the Pro pad that can be adjusted to be long enough to be worn over the shoulder like a sling but that retains the 2 typical attachment points of the camera as worn over the neck?
There are two options for getting a longer length Pro Strap.
1. Get a Pro Strap and a set of Extensions. The Extensions will clip into the Pro Strap and lengthen it an additional 8.5" to 11.5" per side. You can add only one or both to the Pro Strap to get the desired length you want.
2. Go to our Custom Strap page and you can order the Pro pad with XL length connectors. We offer three XL length connectors: 3/8" Webbing XL, Uni Adaptor Loop XL and Pro Loop XL.
What is the difference between the pads on the Pro Strap and Utility Strap? From the photos, I can see that the Pro Strap has additional webbing over the pad, but I can't tell how this affects, fit, comfort, etc. Are the pads themselves the same material and thickness? Also, do these pads work best when worn around the neck, over the shoulder, or are they designed for both?
The chart on the Find A Strap page can help explain the differences between our straps. Both the Pro Strap and Utility Strap can be worn on the shoulder or the around the neck, and they are both rated at 15 pounds. The Pro Strap has the elastic webbing on top of the neoprene pad, while the Utility Strap has elastic inside the neoprene pad. The edges of the Utility Strap are bound, the Pro Strap are not. The Utility Strap has a non-skid surface on the entire underside of the strap pad, the Pro Strap has non-slip grip dots on the center of the strap pad.
